Anissa Madru is a graduate of Purdue University Fort Wayne and has been a Registered Nurse for twenty-nine years. Anissa has spent her career working with the elderly in long-term care and home healthcare. She has been employed with American Senior Communities since 2012 and currently serves as the Vice President of Clinical Development. During her career with American Senior Communities, Anissa has also served as Director of Nursing Services, Regional Director of Clinical Services, and Director of Clinical Education. Anissa obtained her Certification in Infection Prevention in 2019 and is a member of APIC. She led her organization through the COVID-19 pandemic and oversees the corporate infection prevention and control program. While working for American Senior Communities, Anissa earned her Wound Care Certification through the National Alliance of Wound Care and became board certified in Gerontology through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She delivers company-wide training in Infection Prevention, Wound Care, Nursing Preceptor programs, Nursing Skills Competency, and other clinical programs. Anissa supports American Senior Communities skilled nursing and assisted living communities across the state of Indiana. Anissa is currently a caregiver for her mother who has dementia. She is navigating this journey with her father who is the primary caregiver of her mother who lives at home.
